Mathias Goyen, M.D., is Assistant Professor and Chief Communication Officer at the University Medical Center Hamburg-Eppendorf in Hamburg, Germany.
Dr. Goyen received his medical training at the universities of Bochum (Germany) and Basel (Switzerland). After obtaining his medical doctorate he completed a fellowship at the Department of Internal Medicine, University Hospital Essen, Germany and served as a resident and assistant professor in the Department of Diagnostic and Interventional Radiology at the University Hospital Essen, Germany. In 2004, Dr. Goyen finished his tenure on the optimisation of ultrafast magnetic resonance angiography. In the same year, he joined the University Medical Center Hamburg (Germany) as a chief communication officer.
Dr. Goyen’s scientific interests center around magnetic resonance imaging, with a particular focus on magnetic resonance angiography, and healthcare economics.
Dr. Goyen is a member of the ISMRM, ECR, RSNA and DRG. He has served as faculty member at the annual meetings of the ISMRM, ECR, and RSNA. Dr. Goyen acts a reviewer for many international scientific journals in the fields of magnetic resonance imaging and radiology. Dr. Goyen authored more than 60 peer-reviewed original articles. In addition, he contributed many review articles as well as book chapters. Furthermore, Dr. Goyen published four books and has given more than 500 scientific presentations.
