Thrombosis of Mesenteric Vein Following Pancreas Transplant

Clinical details

44 year-old patient following a combined kidney/pancreas transplant. Post-operative functional disorder of the pancreas transplant. MRA for clarification of pancreas perfusion.

Summary of findings

The transplanted pancreas appears inhomogeneous hyperintense in the T2W sequence. Strong homogenous perfusion in the dynamic contrast agent enhanced procedure. In the steady-state phase partially free-floating, partially mural thrombus of the anastomosed mesenteric vein.

Diagnosis

Operatively confirmed thrombosis of the mesenteric vein anastomosed to the transplant.
